Samuels Families and friends,

My name is Margarita Angulo and I am your school librarian. In the last six years at Samuels I have worked with students and faculty as a classroom assistant, reading interventionist, and school librarian.

My goal is to provide every child with “that” book, the one which encourages them to love reading. Our modest library is filled with over 10,000 books with a wide variety of languages and reading levels. English, Spanish, and Arabic books are available. The reading levels of our collection range from ECE to 7th grade.

The library’s biggest draw for young readers is our graphic novels sections. All students enjoy these novels and request them daily. The students and and teachers provide feedback frequently. I order new books every year and consider all of their recommendations.

The library is filled with decorations that excite the children and help them find the books that they want to read. After one visit to the library even the youngest student can easily discover books like Dr. Seuss stories, Clifford, Pete the Cat, or Pigeon and Piggy. Young children may not understand the Dewey Decimal system, but that’s okay. Fly Guy is hanging from the ceiling directly above all of his silly stories.

We have some great resources for you to share with your children. A list of eBooks, eAudiobooks, and databases are linked at the top of the page.
